MY APPROACH TO WORKING WITH STUDENTS

As a high school counselor for 22 years, I saw firsthand the complexity of the college admission process and how overwhelming it can be to busy families who want their child to represent themselves in the most positive light and maximize their admissions opportunities, but worry they are missing key aspects of the process. With years as the lead counselor at Blue Valley North High School, named Best College Prep School in the Kansas City Metro Area, as well as the state of Kansas, by Niche.com,  I have been fortunate to work with some of the region's most accomplished students, as well as those whose talents are still emerging.

As an independent education consultant, my goal is to demystify the admission process. I guide students through every step from identifying their interests, strengths and aspirations, to developing a balanced college list, and a compelling application. Together, we make informed decisions to stay competitive in today’s college admissions landscape.

I am a member of Independent Education Consultants Association (IECA), an interactive community of 2,800 members world-wide, that provides professional development, group college tours, and on-going discussion to stay on the forefront of the evolving state of college admissions. It’s like having access to the wisdom and experience of thousands of college consultants!

I work in-person with local students in my home in Overland Park, KS, and via Zoom for those who prefer virtual or who are not as close geographically.

I would love to be your partner in this exciting stage of your family's life.
